About me

Kent Raible, a master goldsmith and renowned jewelry designer, began his journey with metalwork in 1973 through a high school jewelry-making class. Driven by passion and curiosity, he charted his own path, seeking out skilled mentors and refining his craft through hands-on experience. In the 1980s, he expanded his expertise with two years of study in Germany. Never having apprenticed under a master, Kent established his own studio from the start, developing a distinctive style rooted in 18-karat gold fabrication, vibrant gemstones, and the ancient art of granulation.

His work has earned numerous national and international accolades, securing a place in prestigious exhibitions. His celebrated neckpiece, Floating City, is part of the Renwick Gallery’s permanent collection at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, while his piece Pregnant Chalice was featured in The Art of Gold, a traveling showcase of exceptional American studio goldsmiths.

Beyond creating breathtaking jewelry, Kent has been sharing his expertise since the 1980s, leading workshops at institutions like the Penland School of Craft in Penland, North Carolina and the Revere Academy in San Francisco, California.

Today, Kent continues his work as both an artist and educator from his home studio in Washington state, where he lives with his wife and creative partner, Lynn.
