About me

Jeanette K. Caines is a master goldsmith and the owner and director of Jewelry Arts Inc. in New York City. Her journey into the world of jewelry began over 25 years ago when she enrolled at the Jewelry Arts Institute (now Jewelry Arts Inc.). After years of dedication, she became an instructor in 1999, took over as director in 2009, and purchased the studio in 2017.

In 2015, Jeanette authored “Soldering Demystified,” a jewelry-making book that quickly became both a #1 Best Seller and a #1 New Release on Amazon. Her expertise was also showcased in the PBS/NOVA special “Treasures of the Earth: Metals,” where she demonstrated ancient goldsmithing techniques.

Beyond her studio, Jeanette has collaborated with Rio Grande to produce instructional videos, sharing her knowledge with a broader audience. She also manages the Jewelry Arts Inc. YouTube channel, offering a wealth of tutorials and insights into the craft.

Jeanette’s passion for teaching and her deep understanding of goldsmithing have made her a respected figure in the jewelry community. Her commitment to preserving and sharing traditional techniques continues to inspire both novice and experienced jewelers alike.
